Rigorous science the public can actually read.
The Biomedical Commons is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal that requires findings to be accessible to the general public. We publish work that is held to full scientific standards and written so that anyone affected by it can understand it, closing the gap between complex research and public trust.
- Open access
- Every article is free to read and share under a Creative Commons license. Authors keep their copyright.
- Peer reviewed
- Every manuscript gets double-blind review by at least two independent experts. Review alone decides publication.
- Readable by design
- Each paper carries a 250-word Commons Summary at an 8th-grade reading level: the “so what” for patients, caregivers, and policymakers.
